No terror 'chatter' on eve of marathon, Gov. Patrick says

Authorities have heard no “chatter” about another terrorist strike on the eve of the 118th running of the Boston Marathon, Gov. Deval Patrick said today.

Telling CBS’ “Face the Nation” this morning the Hub will likely be “the safest place in America” tomorrow, Patrick said intelligence units have not intercepted any threats targeting the first Boston Marathon since last year’s deadly bombing in Copley Square that killed three spectators and maimed and injured more than 260 others.

“There has not been elevated ‘chatter,’ as they say. We’re not taking that as a sign to stand down. We’re very alert, we’re very prepared, and we’re assuring people, as much as we can, that it will be a fun day and a safe one,” said a smiling and upbeat Patrick, stressing, “We don’t want it to be a race through a kind of militarized zone.
