  •
Friday 7/15/11 No 4 Interesting that it looks like 'new construction' starting as demo continues.
  •
Wednesday 7/13/11 No 1 Looks a little like my sandbox as a kid.
  •
Wednesday 7/13/11 No 2 I bet they didn't have to deal with any of those new fangled swirly compact flourescent lightbulbs that you need to worry about breaking.
  •
Wednesday 7/13/11 No 3 Do you still have anything you bought at the old Galleria/Worc. Common Fashion Outlets?

  •
Monday 7/11/11 No 1 Now where did I park my car.....?
  •
Monday 7/11/11 No 2 Amazingly, up to this point we haven't had anyone call in with complaints about the demo work: noise, truck traffic, dust, etc...
  •
Monday 7/11/11 No 3 It's funny to get a look at how the garage itself is built. Ever have an erector set as a kid?
  •
Monday 7/11/11 No 4 I wonder what the hot lunch place is downtown for the construction guys?
  •
Wednesday 7/6/11 No 1 It USED TO BE the Mall Entrance....
  •
Wednesday 7/6/11 No 2 If you look real closely at some of the pics, its pretty interesting to see just how much goes into tearing somethign apart. The steal beams labeled #12, 11, 10 and so on are done for a reason, but you and I don't know why. It's not just 'knock it down!"
  •
Wednesday 7/6/11 No 3 Remember the scene in The Blues Brothers, where they drive the car around in the mall? (Great scene btw)Why didn't anyone think of doing something like that here? All we get are guys in Bobcats roaming the structure now.
  •
Wednesday 7/6/11 No 4 Again, why do they plastic off the ends of some stuff?
  •
Thursday 6/30/11 No 1 Dunno about you, but I'm ready for some more buildings to come down.
  •
Thursday 6/30/11 No 2 $5 to the person who comes up with the best guess for what the worker in the bottom lefthand corner is doing to the bucket of his excavator (Disclaimer: Mike Messina is paying you, and you're getting it all in pennies)
  •
Thursday 6/30/11 No 3 Is China buying up all this scrap metal too?
  •
Thursday 6/30/11 No 4 Wondering how long it's going to take to demo the whole site? Thoughts?
  •
Wednesday 6/29/11 No 1 Excavation of the site continues - with materials sorted for removal.
  •
Wednesday 6/29/11 No 2 I think ProCut is a concrete cutting company. I wonder what they are cutting.
  •
Wednesday 6/29/11 No 3 I am still holding out some hope that there might be some 'blowing up' of the garage/buildings. But they are getting less and less by the day.
  •
Wednesday 6/29/11 No 4 I bet the construction guys have some good stories of things they have found hiding in the walls.
  •
Thursday 6/23/11 No 1 The bird's eye view from St. V's.
  •
Thursday 6/23/11 No 2 Great Pic - you can see the dust trail off the debris as it falls to the ground.
  •
Monday 6/20/11 No 1 The roof of the entryway is finally gone.
  •
Monday 6/20/11 No 2 Pretty interesting that they do a lot of the separation of the different types of debris on site (for example the asphalt shingles (I think that's what they are) on the roof.
  •
Monday 6/20/11 No 3 Anyone notice the cars on the top level of the other garage in the right side of the pic? Not sure I'd be parking there....

  •
Friday 6/17/11 No 3 I may have wondered this before, but why didn't they just do a controlled drop of the buildings. Blow it up!
  •
Friday 6/17/11 No 4 Progress being made on the 'back wall' of the hole.
  •
Wednesday 6/15/11 No 1 Concrete chunks being gathered
  •
Wednesday 6/15/11 No 2 Piles of debris to be hauled away.
  •
Wednesday 6/15/11 No 3 A look into the catacombs of the mall.
  •
Tuesday 6/14/11 No 1 I think someone needs to pull the ultimate practical joke. Park a junk car outside the fence, and coordiante with the construction guys to pick the car up and destroy it. That would turn a few heads.
  •
Tuesday 6/14/11 No 2 This spot seems to have become the main staging area for everything. The starting point.
  •
Monday 6/13/11 No 1 A Skid Steer on the roof? Now that's pretty cool Just watch out for the edge - it's a long way down!
  •
Monday 6/13/11 No 2 The construction guys must be loving this cool weather. The rain not so much. But the lack of 80 and 90 degree days...Absolutely!
  •

  •
Monday 6/13/11 No 4 The view from inside St. V's.
  •
Sunday 6/12/11 No 1 You get a feel for just how big the bucket of the excavator really is.
  •
Sunday 6/12/11 No 2 Made-up quote from a construction worker on site. "It seems like for every pile of stuff we pick up, another one appears!"
  •
Sunday 6/12/11 No 3 My gut feeling is this is the pile that ended up in the back of the truck above...
  •
Thursday 6/9/11 No 1 Our photographer 'Downtown Tom' told me this is near where the old Cinema used to be.
  •
Thursday 6/9/11 No 2 'Keep it coming...Keep it coming...Almost there...."
  •
Thursday 6/9/11 No 3 Crane hauling in some scaffolding.
  •
Thursday 6/9/11 No 4 Don't really have a lot to say about this one.

  •
Thursday 6/2/11 No 3 Crunching up the concrete and removing the steel rebar for recycling.
  •
Thursday 6/2/11 No 4 You might think it's easy work operating heavy machinery for 8+ hours a day. But Mike Messina can tell you from personal exoerience that's not always the case.
  •
Tuesday 5/31/11 No 1 A garage of stell and concrete doesn't amount to much when you tear it apart.
  •
Tuesday 5/31/11 No 2 Attention heavy equipment operators: Watch out for the guy walking behind you taking pictures.
  •
Tuesday 5/31/11 No 3 Anyone interested in any souvenir concrete chunks? I think they are selling cheap on ebay.
  •
Tuesday 5/31/11 No 4 I want that guy's job - Liquid Dispersal Specialist (or guy with the hose who wets stuff to keep the dust down)

  •
Wednesday 5/25/11 No 2 Not that anything would necessarily happen to my vehicle..
  •
Wednesday 5/25/11 No 3 But the dust created alone would make it a mess!

  •
Monday 5/23/11 No 1 Demo continues.
  •
Monday 5/23/11 No 2 I wonder why they didnt just use dynamite - would have been a lot faster.
  •
Monday 5/23/11 No 3 Don't take the stairs! (or what used to be the stairs)
  •
Monday 5/23/11 No 4 Look out below!
  •
